Smokefree success stories

Since stopping smoking I feel fantastic! I am now able to go cycling every day and I’m also better off financially. If you want to stop smoking just take that leap.

I was 18 when I started smoking and smoked around 15 a day. I smoked because it was the norm and everyone around me smoked. I smoked for 7 years and managed to quit smoking for 25 years then sadly my husband passed away so I started smoking again. I had enough of smoking. I didn’t like the smell of it and I knew I would benefit financially if I quit. I joined the Knowsley Stop Smoking Service and met Nicola my stop smoking advisor. Nicola made me realise that I used smoking as a coping strategy. I went on to use Champix to help me stop smoking. Nicola was always at the end of a phone when I was finding things difficult at times.

Since stopping smoking I feel fantastic! I am now able to go cycling every day and I’m also better off financially. If you want to stop smoking just take that leap. The Knowsley stop smoking service is great and a great motivation. They’re always there for you and keep in touch even when we were all in lockdown which meant a lot.
